We will primarily focus on how to take a complete or near-complete project through to a full-length manuscript, such as transitioning from a poster or conference presentation to a journal article submission. I’ll share my favorite tools, resources, metaphors, and milestones that keep me motivated throughout the writing process. There will be a chance to reflect on your own writing styles and motivations, as well as try out a 5-minute-timed writing prompt. Presenter: Kim Powell, MIS ( https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3822-526X) is the Research Impact Informationist at the Emory University Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library. Since joining Emory University Libraries in 2011, she has developed novel services around publication analytics, scholarly communications, and research impact metrics. She’s developed and hosted three semester-long writing groups for librarians and participated in numerous academic writing groups, retreats, and faculty support sessions.
